Alan Wimbish- Local Director

Alan put his faith and trust in Jesus Christ at the age of twelve. He is a Raleigh native and upon graduation from Cary High School in 1994, Alan enrolled at Fruitland Baptist Bible College in Hendersonville, NC and graduated in 1997. He served as a police officer in Wake County for thirteen years but always felt called to mission work. After much prayer and godly counsel, he left law enforcement and enrolled at CEF’s Children’s Ministry Institute in Warrenton, Missouri in 2015. Alan has been married to Renee since 1996 and they have four children, Shawn (15), Samuel (14), Savannah (9), and Shelby Lynn (7). He is excited to be a part of the CEF of NC family again and looks forward to reaching the boys and girls of the Greater Raleigh area for Christ.

Laura Gunn- Good News Club Coordinator/ CYIA Coordinator

While teaching elementary school teacher at Wake Christian Academy, Laura met her husband Archie. Laura has previously served as a committee member with the Raleigh chapter. Laura is our Local Coordinator here in the Greater Raleigh Area. Her duties include performing the planning, execution and supervision of after-school Good News Clubs® and 5-Day Clubs®, as well as Teacher Training . She is adding the duties of meeting with the committee and developing a team to carry out the local ministry. Laura and Archie have six children, all who help with the ministry of CEF in various ways. Their names are Samuel, Lydia, Bethany, Elijah, Rebekah, and Susanna.
